Stripping a tub with a chemical stripper requires the same precautions mentioned above. Proper ventilation and a respirator with organic vapor cartridges are required.
Fumes associated with bathtub stripping chemicals have taken the lives of those that did not follow the warnings on the product.
Hovering over a bathtub, unprotected, while stripping it would overtake anyone in a very short amount of time. Bathtub stripping vapors must be taken seriously.
*Note that there are reports that a fresh air system is the only safe way to strip tubs. Some sources say an organic vapor cartridge may not be enough, especially for repeated exposure.
